Whats the deal with Winterboard? Is it just new skins/icons?

How does it affect performance/battery (on the iPhone)? I'm trying to install only the bare essential jailbreak wise on my iPad so as not to impact the performance, no "fluff" stuff.

Not sure if you guys have noticed the way people don't always post in the correct forum here, but feel free to keep piling on, I know that feeling of superiority is delicious. :)

Edit, don't see any obvious change on Cydia, trying it out. Will report back.

Edit 2: installed the "Winterboard" featured package from Cydia iPad, it looks really bad (it added a four-icon iphone style dock to my iPad). Maybe the OP can give us more info on where he got this info and why he thinks it's ready for primetime on iPad. Continuing to mess with it though.

Ma'am.

Okay, selecting an actual theme does help (it'll look really weird after the first reboot with Winterboard installed until you do so).

This release has the same bug SBSettings had where it won't work until a respring.

I probably should have specified but I figured you guys would at least look at the changelog. :D

Hopefully they fix that in the next few days and I'll install then. Thanks for the heads up but.

Wallpaper seriously screwed up. It zooms in on the wallpaper but the lock screen looks fine. This is also after a respiring too. I haven't seen a working theme either.

Edit: Fixed wallpaper problem by disabling summerboard mode.

Well, pre-made themes won't work 100%. Point is, now you can start modifying things as you would like.

SPARTANS TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL! hey guys ill use my new ipad to get the recipe but dont tell anyone i dont want to get kicked into the gigantic hole (whose name escapes me).

Anyway I got a few tweaks to work after downloading twenty. The battery percentage just won't change which implies to me that they must have changed that.

+1 Having to respring after each hard reboot is a major PITA! Anyone figured out a fix for this yet? Does uninstalling winterboard fix it?
