I used to be able to use my weather widget with any wallpaper that I chose.

Now, it's one, or the other--User wallpaper, or weather widget!

I've tried several things, and basically, whichever appears in the Winterboard theme list first, gets the priority, and the other doesn't work!

Is there a way to downgrade Winterboard until this is fixed?

I have two weather widgets installed--One that gives the info for my home city, and one for Anaheim, because I am taking my family to Disneyland for a week.

I would really like to be able to check the weather at a glance, while I'm there, and I've been spoiled by not having to open anythng in order to do so.

However, I've also been spoiled by having a wallpaper, and the black springboard looks so boring!

My plane leaves first thing in the morning, before the sun rises. I'd really like to resolve this before my trip. :(

Temp solution...

I'm at work and can't go into a lot of detail so sorry I can't elaborate on instructions. If you can follow the posts here you can fix it for now.

Basically requires you to SSH into your phone and place your current 'wallpaper.jpg' in the weatherwidget.theme folder.

This was driving me crazy yesterday too when I updated Winterboard. Hopefully a more elegant solution is coming. =)

The widget does work, if you prioritize it in the Winterboard list.

With this work-around, does it also work with the wallpaper?

No...no...no

You have to understand how the new widget functionality works.

It allows you to run widgets as part of your current theme. All you need to do is this:

SSH into your phone and create a "private" folder inside your phone theme. Copy over your "Wallpaper.html" and "LockBackround.html" into your phone theme location. Those two html files go in the same location as your "Wallpaper.png" file. Copy over everything from your weather theme inside the private folder into the private folder you created in your phone theme. That's it.

Actually, I posted my last qustion before I comprehended what the reply actually said... Yes, I understand putting it all in the same folder.

Okay, so that also explains why it is a temporary solution. I will do that with my Anaheim widget for now. Thanks for that suggestion.

Hopefully a more elegant answer will present itself!

Not sure who you are replying to brother. There is no need for a temporary solution. Everything goes inside your phone theme. There is no need to rename anything or move stuff to your weather widget theme.

That reply was directed toward nateinva.

Unfortunately, I tend to be a bit neurotic, and I like to switch things up frequently. Hence, the desire to keep everything separate, and not all bundled together.

That is the part that makes the solution temporary.

If I get the whim to change my wallpaper, or theme, I lose the weather widget, unless I manually edit several different times, and that still doesn't take into account any new wallpapers that I should happen to come across in the meantime. See what I mean? Neurotic.

Unless... Am I wrong? LOL

For those of you who want to use the weather widget, with any wallpaper, without having to manually combine them, there is now a solution.

It's called, "WbApp," and can be downloaded from Cydia.

The best part, is that you can configure it right from your iPhone, with no SSH required.

I'm not sure if I downloaded it at some point, or if it was part of the Winterboard update, or the WbApp tool itself (I suspect the later), but the option is listed in Winterboard as WbWeatherWidget.

Have fun.
