So im using winterboard for a custom keyboard, wallpaper, and a few other things..My lock screen wallpaper and springboard wallpaper are the same thing as of now, when i activate 'User Wallpaper' in winterboard it uses my picture from the lock screen..how can i use two different wallpapers? is it possible? i dont know how to ssh or do any of that stuff with it, and i wont do it, dont wanna get into it..anything i can do to have different wallpapers? like one i have saved in the photo library or something..

I downloaded TAlerts (Talking Alerts) but it doesnt work, i installed it and activated it in winterboard but it doesnt seem to work for me, anything??

Thanksss!

i had a few themes but i dont know how to only use the wallpaper from that specific theme without using the theme itself..but i dont want to use a themes wallpaper..i want to use my own..like a picture from the library or camera role or something, other than the one from my lock screen

Make sure it has a higher priority than the other items you have active. It shouldn't matter, but it did for me. I eventually turned off Talking Alerts because it was simply annoying.

I'd start with one of the themes that only does the wallpaper, like iHour or saurik's sample theme, and then modify the html code to only use one picture which you specify. It should be fairly straightforward.

im gunna download ihour and see what I can do with that, i havent heard of that app..I dont know what you mean with the modifying of the html code, I cant really get all technical and start messing with coding and ssh'ing and all that..im a newbie to the whole iphone thing considering the 3G is my first one..thanks

ok so ihour isn't exactly what i was looking for..that app changes the wallpaper every so often..how would i go about setting a certain picture for my springboard wallpaper? seperate from my lockscreen wallpaper..because as of now they're both the same..I cant change the two to be different

It's kind of hard to customize the iPhone exactly the way you want without knowing how to use SSH. It's really not that hard, if you have ever used an FTP program you can do SSH. Just make sure you backup any files before you replace them and it should be foolproof.

Also, if you like Talking Alerts you should give Vicky Voice a try.

SSH is pretty easy to figure out. It is pretty much like using the finder, unless you want to learn to use the terminal.

Once you figure it out, use the iPhone Settings app to pick a lock wall, and then put the desktop wall that you want to use in the theme folder that you are using (SSH into /Library/Themes/THEME_NAME). Make sure that you uncheck the User Wallpaper in winterboard, as that will make both your walls the same.

i still cant get Talking Alerts to work..its first in priority on Winterboard list..and it still doesnt work..when i got an email i think i heard the voice alert..but it doesnt work for texts..i dont know why

If you want to make sure it is working go to settings and sounds and drag the on and off sliders next email voicemail etc. and it will playback the sound that you are using.

ok so i SSH'd and its relle easy lol..i thought it was doing all this file transfer stuff using the command line..its all gui..nicee..umm, only thing is, im not using an actual theme..just seperate things in winterboard..right now i have black navigation bars, macbook air keyboard, alienware battery, and sms balloons..all those checked..none of them are themes..how am i going to change the springboard wallpaper?

You need to do some reading.

From your signature, I see that you are a Mac user. That's good. ;)

Start here.

While you're at that site, explore around. It really is quite good.

I read that sites tutorial, pretty interesting, thanks..

But that doesnt quite solve the problem..I ssh'd into the theme folder that I'm using and theres no Wallpaper.png file to replace with a specific one of my choice..Do I just add one anywhere? Not sure as to where I would put this file.

EDIT: i got ittt! thanks a lot guys, you need to just throw the picture in the THEME folder, not in any specific folder under that. Thanks a lot for all your help again
