So I have installed XP on bootcamp and have attempted to play Empire Total war but have consistently been getting the blue screen of death!

Do you guys think I should try to update all the drivers? switch to maybe windows 7?

Im really at a loss here. If you would suggest i update all the drivers on the windows side, where do i get them?

Thanks for any help in advance

Go into System Properties->Advanced->Startup and Recovery->Settings, and untick 'Automatically restart'; that way you'll be able to copy down the error code and the driver that the fault happened in.

So, basically, this. Which, of course, doesn't mention the faulting driver at all.

It should have generated a minidump into c:\windows\minidump; should be a small 64kBish .dmp file with stack information. You can then use WinDbg to read out the information contained within. Or you can just post the minidump file here and I'll take a crack at it.

You might also want to give MemTest86 a whirl to make sure that the culprit isn't bad RAM.
