I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max configured with T Mobile. I am going to trade it in either by mailing it back or dropping it off at a store. After setting up my new phone:

1. Do I need to erase the eSIM?
2. If so, do I do it before doing a factory reset?
3. I am assuming there are no physical SIM cards in this phone?

Thanks

This should answer everything:

  1. Go back to Settings and tap General > Transfer or Reset [device] > Erase All Content and Settings. If you turned on Find My [device], you might need to enter your Apple ID and password. If your device uses eSIM, choose the option to erase your device and the eSIM profile when asked.

Thanks, I wasn't aware that this setting also wipes the eSIM, thought it was two different steps.
