wireless and 3g connections question

Hi I have a question about my ipad.

I bought the one with wireless and 3G.

How do I know if I am using wireless or 3G?

By that I mean in my house I only want to use wireless so I can download what I want without without going on 3G and losing some of my download allowance.

Does it only use wireless first? Or will it use 3G even though I am in a wireless area.

It will use wireless first. If you are really concerned, you can turn off 3G while you are at your home.
