I'm assuming there's a really simple answer for this. The wireless in my apartment is shared by many people. The router itself is in a very inconvenient location for me to physically access however the signal it provides works just fine. I need to connect the "Hue Bridge" to a router with an ethernet cable in order to use my Hue smart lights. Rather than connect to the main router I'd like to connect to some kind of hub or extender or access point or wireless bridge or repeater, etc. (I don't know the right terminology) which is itself connected wirelessly to my home network. What is the best and cheapest way to do this? Can I do this without losing signal strength or speed? Are there security issues? What piece of equipment am I looking for? Here are a couple options:
1) If the only thing I'm connecting to this "hub" is the Hue Bridge do I need to worry about signal degradation or security? Could I find a really cheap, easy way to do this?
2) If it won't be any more expensive or complicated, would it be worth while to get something that will boost and improve the wifi signal to my other devices while I'm at it? Thanks for any help.

Here are some devices that do what you requested-Connect Wifi to an ethernet port.

1-https://www.amazon.com/DHMXDC-Wireless-N-Extender-Wireless-Repeater/dp/B01JOFIBV6/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=ethernet+wireless&qid=1567308008&s=gateway&sr=8-3

I did an overkill and bought an expensive Netgear wireless extender that had ports on it. Works as advertised.

I do not recommend any of these devices as I have not tested them personally, but I am just telling you they do exist. Look them up and do your own research and find the right gadget for your needs and budget. A nice place to look up in Amazon is the "Customers also bought" section or "sponsored" section which advertises product competitors.
