In one way, the new iPad Pro looks like it might be a step backwards. With my 2017 model I have enjoyed using the Logitech Base Charging Stand to enable wireless charging, and I'm unwilling to give up this convenience unless either it turns out that this base will work with the 2018 model (10.5 in. in my case) or somebody else comes up with a viable wireless charging solution. Anybody have any input about this?

I bought a Samsung wireless charger for my 2017,not sure it will work with the 2018 but a call to both Logitech or Samsung should give the answers.

If the smart connector on the 3rd Gen supports charging then I’m sure Logitech will release a similar stand in due course.

Logitech's website doesn't have a phone nr. and to contact their support you have to set up an account, which strikes me as unncessarily intrusive. Didn't know Samsung had a similar product, thanks for letting me know, I'll check it out.

Err what iPad do you have that supports actual wireless charging? OP’s charger isn’t technically wireless as it is a dock that uses the smart connector not Qi.

I made a mistake it’s my iPhone using the Samsung charger, my iPad is never removed from the Apple charger.
I would hope Logitech will support the new iPads.

Yea not excited to upgrade because of this change as well. The new placement of the SmartConnector makes it so you’d need two different stands for the two different sized iPads. I love the Logitech Base and will be hanging onto my iPads longer because of this change. A downgrade in experience loosing wireless charging.

Well, yeah, by "wireless" I should have saidt Qi. I'm not sure that using the smart connector isn't a special form of Qi inasmuch as magnetic induction is still being used, right? Anyway,Qi is a huge step forward, anything that requires me to use a cable and a plug is like a trip back to the Dark Ages. Apple was quick to embrace this technology for the Watch and the iPhone and ought to be thinking a lot harder than seems to be the case about how to extend it to the iPad. Unless they moved the smart connector to the back of the case because they have a surprise up their sleeve. (I know there's still a magnetized thingie on the case side to accommodate the Pencil, but I suppose the voltage is way too low to permit charging the iPad battery, right?)

No previous wattage is not too small - previous gen SmartConnectors could be used to charge the iPad with the Logitech Base stand.
