I can’t find the answer to this and I’ve called Nomad but no reps will answer the phone. This forum has helped me a lot so hopefully someone will have the answer. I bought the new Nomad Base Station Pro. Whenever I put a samsung device on it, the device constantly goes in and out of wireless charging. It constantly starts and stops, starts and stops. I have tried this with two different Samsung devices (Fold 2 and S20 FE) and both do the same thing, so it’s not the phone. I then tried to charge my wife’s iPhone on the Base Station Pro and it charges just fine. No issues. Lastly, I tried to charge the samsung devices using a regular Anker wireless charger. They charged just fine. I’m at a loss. I don’t know what’s at fault.

Mine are a regular 8 and a regular 11 pro. Haven’t had time to set up my 12 pro yet. But I’m not using it with it until it’s sorted out because I don’t want to wreck the battery. I’m very disappointed in the charger and also the lack of response from nomad. Especially since I’ve been a customer of theirs since they got their start.

I put the 8 on there by itself last night since I started using my old mophie charger for my 12. The 8 on there by itself charged fine it looks by the charging graph. must be an issue with multiple devices.

Did you try the 12 Pro by itself? Doesn’t work at all - starts and stops charging over and over and the white light never illuminates on the Base Station Pro. Hopefully Nomad can issue a firmware update...

Call my crazy but I’m not putting my brand new phone on that thing. I’m actually thinking it’s the reason my 8 and old 11 were showing battery life percentage drops. My 8 is from March and is already down a percent and I don’t really use it it’s my work phone. My 11 was down to like 96. Most of my phones were always at 100 after a year.

I’m really pissed at myself for buying it at this point to be honest.

I finally got a response.

“Hi Danny,

Thanks for reaching out. My sincerest apologies for the delay in response, as we are receiving a very high volume of emails at this time! I'm sorry to hear about the charge cycling you are experiencing while charging your devices on Base Station Pro.

The charging cycling on and off for a short period of time after the phone is first placed on the charging surface is expected behavior for Base Station Pro. This cycling may happen a few times until the desired calibration is reached between the Base Station Pro and your device. Our engineering team is currently working on optimizing this process further so that the phone does not indicate charging pinging on and off.

If you are experiencing the charge cycling consistently after the first 5 or so minutes, you should see this resolved in the next available firmware update.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please let me know if you have any other questions.”

Not a overwhelmingly reassuring response. Replied asking about the iPhone 12 we shall see what they say if they answer.

Not convincing at all. It doesn’t charge the iPhone 12 Pro, PERIOD.

The firmware update did not solve my issues. I am at the point that I just want my money back and to move on.

I updated the phone and the charger. My 8 and 12 will both ding repeatedly throughout the night. When I check the charging graphs they both stop and start charging at least 4 times each. When the 8 is on it by itself it usually works fine. Not sure about the 12.

Send Nomad this information.
