Good day to you all.
just a quick question, how to find out what Wifi Chipset you have in your Mac? I've looked in the 'About Mac' but cannot for the life of me find it.
Ive been looking into installing Opencore with the aim of installing OS Catalina.

On looking at the stickies it mention supported Chipsets BCM943224, BCM9435x, BCM9436x and not sure if the system I have has any of these?

Mac Pro 5,1 A1289 2.93ghz 6 core x2

Any help would be most appreciated

You can only find it indirectly, via the PCIe ID of the AirPort Extreme and some googling.

System Information > Wi-Fi > Card Type, then you google the PCIe ids.

You can also do it via Terminal:

Code:
system_profiler SPAirPortDataType |grep Card

Googling 0x14E4, 0xF5 you'll get BCM94331PCIEBT4AX or BCM94331PCIEBT4CAX after some investigation. Maybe someone else knows a site that compiles the full list of PCIe IDs vs card models.
