Wireless connection

Can anybody explain to me why I can get very good wireless connection on my iPhone but continually drop the connection on my iPad.

36 days ago Apple said it will be addressed in a "Future iPad software update".....fail so far

I may take back the £120 belkin router that I bought then. Hopefully they will sort it out soon, very frustrating.
