Wireless Connectivity Problems in Windows

I have had a problem with trying to get my macbook pro to connect to my wireless router, either wirelessly, or through the ethernet port. This occur's only while I'm in Windows by means of bootcamp. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions? I am using the 1.1.1. bootcamp drivers. I've run out of ideas. Can anyone help?

Actually I did. I don't know exactly what I did to fix it, but I messed around with it for a while and finally figured it out. The first thing I did was removed the security password from my router. For some reason Windows wasn't letting me connect with the WEP password. Then I uninstalled some networking software that came with my router and just used the default windows configuration software. I tinkered around with a few other things and it finally started working. I think it was a combination of things. My next problem is going to be putting the security back on my router again so my network isn't open to the world.

I am having the exact same problem and I have been trying to figure this out for a long time.... Have you found any solutions?

I can't erase the password because I'm at work. I looked at my bios and the driver for the network controller is not here. It's really strange.. I'm so confused

Check in Device Manager and see if the device has any problems -- if so, update (or revert!) the driver. Also check to see that you really did install ALL of the drivers from the Mac CD you burned using BootCamp Assistant.

I bought one of the new C2D MacBook Pros a few days ago and tried to install Windows XP through Boot Camp. I also was never able to get networked. Physically plugging in through ethernet resulted in a "limited or no connectivity" message and no functionality. And no amount of putzing with the drivers would get my wireless card going -- kept getting an "error 10" message from Windows.

So I got a copy of Parallels and installed Windows that way. A little disappointed by the (albeit beta) Boot Camp experierence, but meh... XP is not critical for my needs anyhow. Just kinda surprised that I couldn't get it to work with a straight-outta-the-box stock Mac.

FWIW, getting a "limiited or no connectivity" message means that you were actually using a wireless connection at the time that message was displayed -- not your physical ethernet connection.

Hmmm... I'm not able to check anymore because I got rid of the Boot Camp partition, but I'm pretty sure the "limited or no connectivity" message only came up when I plugged in the ethernet cable, and disappeared upon unplugging it. I figured it had something to do with the fact that it was detecting a cable was plugged in, but it wasn't able to get a proper IP address, etc.

It's a good idea at that point to check in Device Manager to make certain that the ethernet card itself is configured correctly. There may well have been some driver related problem in re: to it -- and that would definitely interfere with your being able to use that connection point.

the ethernet adapter didn't have an exclamation point or anything beside it in the Device Manager... seemed it had loaded the driver from the CD Boot Camp had burned. Don't know where the problem was.

If I find a compelling reason to install XP again (beyond Parallels), I'll give it a shot when an updated Boot Camp is released.

Well, I just installed the newly released Boot Camp drivers (version 1.1.2). Wireless and ethernet now work just fine.
