Hello i am looking for some help with a very perplexing wireless issue we are having. I am the apple tech for a small college in North Dakota. Our wireless setup is a ruckus wireless system with 98 AP's installed around campus managed by a zone director central server. All the AP's broadcast three separate SSID's. Wireless@MSU, SecureWireless@MSU and Guest@MSU.

Back in the summer of 2010 we purchased about 50 21.5in iMacs 10,1 late 2009 models. 30 of them were for a mac lab and the other 20 were used as podium machines. The only difference in the machines are the lab ones have a bigger hard drive and the updated graphics card. Ever since we purchased them the 20 macs for the podiums will not connect and work with our wireless network, the lab machines work just fine. 70% of the time they will not get a ip address and when they do get a ip they will not pass traffic or allow you to browse or ping. The wireless will work just fine when trying to connect to Guest@MSU but not when trying to connect to the other two. There is no WEP/WPA2 or security setup on the Wireless@MSU it was a completely open network until recent network changes which now direct you to a login page. Before and after the network changes we made the wireless still wont work on these iMacs. I have reinstalled the OS several times, Reset every network setting and tried numerous other internet suggestions.

If i boot the machines from a Linux live cd or a external HD running Lion 10.7 the wireless will work fine no issues. We have also had no reported issue with the wireless not working with any other devices as we all have iPads, iPhones and have purchased new iMacs since then that all work fine with the campus wireless. I am running out of ideas as the issue is just affecting these 20 iMacs purchased last summer.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
