Ok so my wireless keyboard to my iMac suddenly stopped working at random and I can't type anything. If I had read posts on the internet first I would have known the likely fix is to go into preferences and re-sync the keyboard in devices but a little voice in my head told me to reset my computer and now i can't log in because I can't type the password (I am a dope).

Anyway around this without having to go out and buy a wired keyboard?

A few things to note. Just before this happened I disconnected an external hdd without properly ejecting it, i also plugged in my phone charger to the imac and I recently installed OSX Sierra

Is it likely just a bluetooth bug? The green light on my keyboard blinks for a bit when i turn it on, likes its looking to connect, then it turns off..

Don't forget if this is the magic keyboard, it has the lightning port in the back, making it a wired keyboard again.
