A month after my purchase of the wireless MM...verdict

I still love this effing thing. IMO, it is the scroll ball that makes this thing. When I use my PC (work laptop & Gaming rig) I literally feel like using my logitech G7 scroll wheel is akin to using a generic band-aid vs a 3M foam one :)

It feels like crap.

Long live the wireless MM ......

Long live the wireless MM ......

I highly doubt that. Give it another couple of months and come back and tell us about battery usage and if that little nipple of a scroll ball still works (specifically scrolling up).

I'll stick with my cheaper Logitech MX which can take a beating. IMHO, function over form wins, especially if the mouse is a necessary tool.

I've had mine for a couple of months now. Works flawlessly :-D

No problems with the trackball or high battery usage(it's at 80 percent now)

Mine is fine. However, it's really not conducive to gaming AT ALL, so use something else if you want to game. Also, I've found that it just DESTROYS batteries, as in I've gone through 6 batteries now in the past 2.5 months. Brutal.

I use a Microsoft Wireless InteliMouse Explorer 2.0, though it requires an external transmitter, it has very good battery life. What also helps if you use rechargeble batteries to reduce the waste of single use batteries.

I have using mine since June and the batteries are only at 40%. Odd that you've gone through so many batteries.

I love mine too! I was so worried hearing people complain about the ball stopping scrolling in some directions, and haven't had that issue (I clean it once every couple weeks as suggested by apple). Plus, the battery life is incredibly good, not sure what's going on with people whose battery drains fast, after a couple months of use I have all my battery bars when I check in system prefs.

I've had my wireless MM and wireless apple keyboard since the end of May. MM batteries have been charged once in that time and are still at 40%. The keyboard batteries are on their first charge still and have a 60% charge left. Both are used 5-8 hours a day 5 days a week.

As for the scroll ball on the MM, my first MM had to be returned after a couple days because it wouldn't scroll up or right because the little sensor (held on by magnets none the less) fell out. Since I got my replacement I have had no problems with scrolling.
