My girlfriend has an HP laptop and is looking for a wireless card to add to it. First thing that came to mind is Linksys or Belkin. Any personal reccomendations in this field?

I'm going to assume this HP runs Windows. Pretty much any name-brand out there will have Windows' drivers, so you should be ok. Just make sure you don't allow windows to manage wireless connections. The manufacture's drivers are usually much better. I personally like Linksys and D-Link. I've had good experiences with both.

I had a Linksys PCI wireless card in a G4 tower, and a Linksys wireless PC card for my old G4 Powerbook. Both worked perfectly; I never had a problem with either of them. The Linksys Bluetooth adapter I used in the Powerbook was also flawless, so I'd recommend Linksys.
id go for (believe it or not) microsoft. i had an 802.11b card from them in my old pc laptop that i was very satisfied with, moreso than my linksys (or some brand like that) 802.11g card. the software is (believe it or not) so easy to configure and it was just easier to use because it worked more tightly with windows.
