wireless or wired for my 24"

Cable, if it is faster.
I use a cable with mine now, as the wireless was very poor. Probably because the router is three floors below me, in an ancient house.
The cable is huge and goes up the outside of the house and into a window in my room. Hurrah!
Now I get 10mb/s (cable provider's crap service permitting) whilst everyone else in the house gets about 3mb/s if they are lucky.

All depends on what internet ISP connection you have or what your intention on file transfer between mac is.
I usually always use wire (10/100Mbit sometimes gigabit) for tranfers.
A g standard is up 54Mbit and it all depends on where it is located as the poster above mentions that he is gettingn 3Mbit is not that great if you have a internet connection that is 24Mbit

That is who I am with. It really depends on the speed of your internet connection - for 2mb, I would go with wireless. 4mb...wireless again. 10mb, definitely wired.
If you are moving lots of files or large files from computer to computer across the network, use wired for sure. Just much faster and reliable.
My 24" is about a foot from my wireless router, yet the signal fluctuates continuously. Wired connection is a lot better.
I have a question about the built in wireless as well but instead of posting a new thread I will just ask it here. My wireless modem is about 10m from where my iMac will be and I have been reading that the iMac's have a major problem with their airport keeping a connection, is this true? If so would it help stop this problem if I increased the signal strength? I don't really want to do this though as my signal now is barely pickupable (is that a word?) from the other side of the road and I don't want to open my connection up to more potential threats, I will only do it if I have to.
