wireless printer doesn't work with iMac security

When I use WPA2 security my wireless printer doesn't work.
When I remove the security, it does work. All other wireless devices
work fine.

Also, what's the difference between WEP and WPA2 security?
HP says my Photosmart C4780 printer should work with WEP.
Apple recommended WPA2. Is it OK to WEP?

WEP is an older encryption scheme that is not very secure anymore. If you insist on keeping your wireless printer it looks like you'll be required to use it. Otherwise, try plugging your printer into your router if it has a USB port or whatever and use it that way.
