So I'm wondering if I'm missing a feature here. As I'm getting back on the road again, and now have a cellular-enabled iPad for the first time, I'm running across an annoyance. It seems that if my iPad is connected to a WiFi access point and that signal gets weak or ineffective, the cellular doesn't kick in to provide connectivity. I literally have to forget the WiFi network to get the cellular to take precedence. This is a pain in the butt.

Is there a way to configure the wireless connectivity to jump from one to the other depending on the signal integrity or quality of service of one?

Curious minds want to know...

Do you have Wi-Fi Assist turned on? (Settings, Cellular Data, near the bottom). If so, toggle it anyway and restart

It is on. I'll toggle, restart, and try again. I may not be able to test it again until I run into a poor WiFi spot, but I'll give it a try and see if it works!

Under Wi-Fi Assist there should be value in MB indicating how much data cellular has assisted since last statistics reset. I suggest keep an eye on this value to see if it is doing anything

You can disable wifi temporarily via Control Center.

The built-in Wi-Fi Assist feature only kicks in for me when internet is completely down and not when it's just slow. Spectrum craps out at times so I tend to just manually disable wifi instead of getting up in the middle of the night to do network troubleshooting.

That sucks I liked when Wi-Fi Assist was more aggressive but I know Apple disabled or so called fixed that because of all the complaints and being sued. :(

To bad there not a way to tell Wi-Fi Assist what apps to use it with only. Plus set how aggressive it is.
