We have two computers - iBook 14" G4 & a Winblows HP something or other.
At the moment the PC only has the internet, but both have a printer. Now the printer on the PC is broken, and I was wondering whether both computers could share my printer (HP PSC 1350) to reduce cost. How can we go around doing this?

We are thinking of getting a wireless router for the internet anyway, could this be used some how to share the printer? (Sorry I don't have much experience with networking). Money is also another concern, as I can afford a decent router but not really much else.

How could I go about doing this!?
Thanks.

i have found from experince that pc's have a hard time connecting to macs for printer sharing. take the printer put it on the pc, enable sharing, go into the printer settings under the utlity folder under the app folder, and on a drop down list you'll see network and you should see the printer connected to the pc.

for the router get a linksys wireless g. just plain old g none of that turbo range, speed booster crap. i find linksys reliable and cheap at the same time.

also print servers are about $100 and you connect the usb to the device that goes on the network but you'll lose your your scanning ability with the printer also the memory card reader

My Airport Express works dandily for sharing a wireless internet connection, a printer, and a stereo between Macs and PC's. I guess the only problem would be whether or not the PC has wireless.

If you have a standard ethernet router lying around somewhere, everything should work swimmingly if you hook it up correctly.

OK, thanks guys. Looks promising.
Oh and I was looking at getting a linksys wireless g anyway!
And yeh, I do need the scanning ability.
