Wireless rear speaker set up
For the last year or so I have been using the simple ROCKETFISH rig. about 99 at a big box store. Probably some less over the net.
The simple transmitter hooks to the SL and SR output of your AVR and AC. The receiver goes where you want it and plugs into an AC outlet. The receiver has outputs for the speaker connections of SL and SR.. It uses a radio freq similar to wireless telephones. Pairing the Xmitter and Rcvr is as simple as pressing a red button on the Rcvr. When they are properly paired the Xmitter stops blinking and the Rcvr light glows continuous. Simple. If there is a power interruption just go over to the Rcvr and press the red button once or twice and the Xmitter light stops blinking. Takes maybe 10 seconds.DTS from the DVD player, Blue ray from the Blu ray player, 5.1 from the apple tv and normal Tv sound, and cd audio all go through the AVR as normal and appear on the SL and SR channels as they should. I dont compensate for any possible lag, have never noticed any. Most AVRs have all manner of distance, lag or synch mechanisms to compensate with if you hear any. The choice of speakers is up to you. The rocket fish doesnt care. I use Definative Tech. Bi Polars back there. I recommend the system HIGHLY. It just works. NEVER and interference problem.
