Wireless transfer of files between Mac and Samsung Galaxy Tablet S4

I'm wondering if there is any way that I can wirelessly transfer files between my MacBook Pro and my Samsung Galaxy Tablet S4, both of which are connected to the same wifi network.

Why not use Bluetooth? I use it from time to time between my Pixel 2 XL and MBP.

Once upon a time I used AirDroid. I believe PushBullet also has that functionality. There’s also the cloud storage option. Why not use Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive?
