Hello,
A couple of minutes ago, I noticed a folder called "whireshark" in the application support folder. I know the program and its use but I've never installed it before and the odd thing is, the folder had a red sign on it which means I do not have permission to access. However, when I wanted to check who had permission under Sharing & Permissions, there were "Fetching..." - Read & Write and "Everyone" - No access. To be honest, "Fetching..." thing got me worried so I removed it from the list before I could take a screenshot and then I added myself to gain permission. I found a folder called "ChmodBPF" and in it, two files one being executable and other with a .plist extension.
After a bit of research, I found out that this folder is supposed to be installed during the installation of wireshark. But the fact that I never installed it before and other things I made mention of (no permission and fetching...), made me suspicious. I would appreciate if anyone who has ever used this program or knows anything about this issue could share their ideas. If it's indeed something that I should be worried, I'm planning to do a clean install of Yosemite asap.
I added the contents of the folder as a screenshot.
Thanks in advance.
