Does anyone wish that when you turn the page of a book in iBooks it made a sound of a page turning? Yes it is potentially additional drain on the battery, but just have an on/off setting.

They took the time to make the pages transparent...

And for all of you being aggorant why don't you try to wipe your butt with one of the iBook pages and tell me what sound it makes...

Why would they have the need to make a noise though?

Unless you love to make a noise with your book, people tend to read and not make a swish noise when turning pages so I dont see why you would like that on a e-reader?

I can't imagine anything more annoying than a fake page turn sound. If they did that it would annoy me to no end and I would probably disable it after the first page turn. Just my $.02.

No. I dont think people diserve the right to have a ibook section of the ipad to make the swish noise when the pages turn. It doesnt do it on e-readers and it doesnt do it in real life. We dont live in a cartoon. If it bothers you that much sell your ipad.

So, flipping a page doesn't make noise AT ALL?

I like the idea as an option, too. It would make it seem less "cold," to me.

I have held off on buying a Kindle for so long, I'm joking with DH that the iPad is my reward for not buying a Kindle. I do use the iPhone Kindle app, but with each "page" running about two paragraphs, there's a lot of page-flicking. Will be great to have the larger screen.

It would be even better if the pages of old books would appear to almost crumble as they were turned. Then vary the noise of the pages turning, because it varies some with real books.

It does not make a swoosh noise and if you turn a page properly in a book *go grab a book* and turn the page *listen* NO SWISH, There is basicly NO NOISE the only noise is the noise of your fingers rubbing the paper. Maybe you are used to reading massive picture books or can you not read a real book at all perhaps?. The people who want the page turning noise is acting like a kid. Why even complain about no swish noise? They need to grow up. Why would you even want a swish noise? The ibook app is for reading books. Not for entertaining your little child like brains.

And yes for people who put comments about wishing they had a swish noise, they should sell it because if thats one reason why they dont like it then they will find other things much worse to hate about it so they shoudl go run and sell it NOW.

I can almost guarantee they tried this, and decided it was too gimmicky and distracting. I kind of wish it was an option too, even though i'd probably disable it. Apple is all about keeping things simple... And so it is...

Why stop there? Man I wish my iPad had actual pages glued on to it so i can flick through em like a real book. Oh gee.

There's always something. Apparently holding a computer with your bare hands isn't awe-inspiring enough that we want our virtual paper pages to make a "swish" sound.

You can't please em all. Ever.

It's not a computer remember, it's an iPad...

Why! To add one gimmick to another? If anything, the existing visual effect distracts from reading. It's good for commercials but it's a gimmick. Just imagine that after switching from horses to cars we still wanted to keep the smell and the neigh. :)
