My apologies if this isn’t the most appropriate forum for this question, mods please feel free to move it if there is a better place for this question.

So with the App Store balance now being part of your Apple store balance, does that mean that we are no longer going to see discounted App Store gift cards? I used to stockpile them when they went on sale at Costco (15%-20% off; as a side note, they’re note even selling them at their standard 5% off anymore) and manage my “budget” with regards to in-app purchases and whatnot. If I am no longer able to get discounts on App Store cards (and, by extension, on subscriptions and IAPs), I really need to rethink my subscriptions and put a couple of them on the chopping block.

Does my reading of the situation seem accurate? And, if anybody is in a similar situation to mine with regards to previously buying discounted gift cards, what is your plan moving forward?

In the news thread discussion when this announcement was made, the consensus in the thread seemed to be the discounted cards would go away. I have not seen an official statement in it from Apple.

Dang, let me look through the news thread, but this isn’t very promising :/
