Is there any changes to the previous ceramic shield ? IIRC, those can still be scratched easily.

Marketing buzzwords. I use screen protectors at least as long as the device is new. After a few years I don’t care about micro scratches anymore.

i haven't used a shield since probably the 7... the 14P has one little mark on it that I only notice when the sun hits it just right. God knows when it happened. But personally haven't seen the need to get one.

if you have applecare it's cheaper to get the screen replaced 30 dollars than most screen protectors.

thanks all, that's what I figured. I always use a screen protector, and will continue to do so.

There are few reasons not to use a screen protector. They also protect the value of the phone when it’s time to sell or trade-in.

I always order a screen protector a few days before my phone is due to arrive. That way its protected from day one and I don’t procrastinate and end up with avoidable scratches that will dent resale by £50-100.
