Prior to the latest iTunes 12.07, a copy of my OS apps were stored on my iMac in "Mobile Apps" folder.

Since iTunes no longer supports OS apps do I need to keep these copies or delete to free up space?

I was wondering this too. All those iOS apps must be taking up a lot of space, so why the need to keep them when they can no longer be updated in iTunes?

Yeah, this is a big cluster f***. What happens when we have to restore now, does it download the apps and all the saved data, or do the apps get backed up into each individual back up file, or are the still stored in the apps folder ?

I keep local back ups, I don't back up to the cloud.
