within 30 day exchange period, take the plunge?

I have been reading thoroughly all over the net the past few days about the iphone, played around with one at AT&T for several hours, and am quite pleased. My question for everyone is since I am in my 30 day exchange period since I just purchased a new phone, should I take the plunge and get an iphone now or wait till a 16g comes out? I dont really listen to alot of music, but I have read alot of reviews with people having mixed reviews.

My parents work for AT&T and they only get 10% off the iphone, all other handsets are 60% off. Since I paid 120 for my current phone, I can upgrade to the Iphone for only 280. What do you guys think??

I am a technology guru, and love electronics, but I dont want to buy this phone if a new one is coming out a few months down the road.

You can change to the iPhone at any time in the future, but you won't get the money back from your current phone. I'd go ahead and go now, unless you seriously thing you need the 16 gig, or want to wait for who knows how long for the v2 phone.

Ive been on the fence the past several days. I previously owned a palm treo 650 but didnt care for it too much after a few months. I think I would actually use the iphone though. Anyways, thanks for the thoughts. I think I will go pick one up tomorrow at halftime of the Miami/OU game.
