I use a controller-based WLAN from ARUBA.

My SSID is configured to require company-wide WPA2 authentication (i.e. with username and password). The connection works fine if I manually connect to the SSID. I then choose to connect automatically. Now the iPhone doesn't do that.

Only if I have selected the option "Ask to join networks". Then the iPhone connects automatically. But I HATE this option, because if you go in a busy area, you get thousands of WLAN networks suggested, during writing a short message.

Therefore the question: How can you reach the automatic connection WITHOUT the option "Ask to join networks"?

My device: iPhone 8 plus with IOS 12.1.4

What I have already tried:

  1. Network settings reset
  2. Mobile phone booted
  3. An iPad with also 12.4.1 - same problem
  4. With the Apple Configurator using profiles the WLAN stored
  5. The SSID is connected manually, not via broadcast.
  6. Tried with my MAC, V. 10.14.3 -- no problems at all

Every hint would be helpful, who have some advice?

ciao
