wmp woes

Hi everyone. I know, I shouldn't be usig the app in the first place, but what to do???? I'm trying to listen to archived stuff from the danish national radio, and the blasted wmp will start up, buffer, begin playing the programme, and then stall at random places untill it freezes after a few minutes. It's driving me mad! Does anyone know of an alternative player or a way to fix this? I've tried installing flip4mac wmv player, but all it did was start up quicktime that then stood and did nothing. Same problem in both safari and firefox.

(I'm running 10.3.9 on an iMac G4, firefox 1,5 and safari 1.3.1 (v312.3.3), wmp 9.0)

Or, if you want to convert those blasted Windows Media files into a real audio format, you can use the shareware application ffmpegx (works even without registering; it runs as a GUI for open source media conversion libraries): http://homepage.mac.com/major4/

Alternatively, flip4mac I haven't tried, but from what I hear it's good: http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv.htm

Try updating to Flip4Mac 2.0, which now supports streaming WMA.
