WMV, audio only, no picture

I've searched the forum for the answer to this issue but could not find it.

I installed WMP for Mac so that I could see my friendster page with the video linked there. It worked fine for 2 days then everytime I load the page it gave me an error message: File could not be opened. Please check the link and make sure the address is correct.

I installed QT 7.04 and Flip4Mac last night, then restart my Ibook G4 1.2GHz. The Friendster page finally plays the music, but no video, just a blank box linked to the original page (clickable). The video, however, plays just fine on the original site.

I then trashed the WMP and Flip4Mac, restart my Ibook, then re-install Flip4Mac. Now all I'm getting is the audio only on both Friendster and the original page. Any suggestion on what I should do to make it work? I am soo about to kick my Ibook and trash it

I had a very similar problem on my PC. An mpeg4 file was playing audio only in Windows Media Player, even though I had upgraded the player to version 10. Tried upgrading DirectX to a more recent version etc, nothing worked. Eventually it turned out that what I needed was an upgrade to XP service pack 2. Then even Media Player v9 could play my mpeg4 file fine. Of course, this is not a documented requirement, nor it makes any sense to me.

Of course, this experience will not help you directly, but your problem may have something to do with the way your friend's PC. If it is generating it on an XP SP2, which may have some built-in codecs that older XP versions or Mac OSX does not have access to.

Open the file in WMP9 Mac. Do File/Get Info and post all the information here. That'll let us know what the codec is and make a suggested solution.

Okay, I'm having problem downloading WMP for Mac (trashed the one I downloaded last time). But anyway, here's the link to the music video. I still can listen to the music, just no video.
