i think the pro version will do what you want.

iSquint is what I've been using to convert .wmv files to .mp4 or h.264. http://www.isquint.org/

it downsamples the resolution by default, but the advanced options will let you preserve the resolution that it may have been before. It will hiccup on some .wmv files...but has worked for me most of the time.

The free version can too, if you have Quicktime pro. Download the .wmv file, drag and drop it onto a web browser (I suggest Firefox or Safari), then click the bottom right pull down menu and choose "save as .mov". Simple and easy, and doesn't require something like running FFMpeg, which is a great conversion app, but I find it to be lower quality than just using Quicktime Pro. Plus, you to watch browser WMVs as Quicktime files with the free Flip4Mac download, which I personally love.

And as far as I know, the pro version of Flip4Mac can only convert TO .wmv; I haven't seen people have much luck opening files in Quicktime with it.
