Hey guys, just read some threads about wobbing and creaking... Is that the same problem or is it two different kinds of problems?

I'v just got my 1 replacement of my ultimate 13" it only creaks a little, but i cant decide if i should send it in for another replacement and maybe get one with screen issue etc. or can anyone confirm that a screwdriver actually solves the problem!???

Have a nice sunday

I just got my 3rd MBA. My first one was DOA and my second creaked a LOT. I started a Poll on here based on people's findings. I will say that my replacement does not creak AT ALL. It is of a significantly better build quality than my creaking Air and I could not be happier that I decided to have my Air replaced a 2nd time. Do not take No for an answer. You paid anywhere from 1,300 to 1,800 dollars for this machine and it should be perfect. I even had my creaking Air "re seated" (not even sure what that means but probly just re screwing in the bottom) at the Apple store and this did not help it.

Hope this helps.

My 13" MBA hasn't creaked (yet), but I'd try to get it replaced if it did: the creaking would bother me significantly for such an expensive product.

I'm returning my MBA 11' because of wobbling, hopefully the next one will be fine. I would hate to return yet another MBA, but you never know... Fingers crossed..

I was playing with the 13 inch MBAs at the Apple store on black friday and I though that I felt a good amount of instability. I would hold the left & right sides of the keyboard with my hands and then move them in opposite directions. I could feel the top of the keyboard really moving independently from the bottom of it.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or, are these floor models really taking a beating or is this a result of their design? I tried to remind myself that it was just a computer, but then reminded myself of the price.

The creaking came from different places as well for me. It happened when I picked it up from the palm rest and also when I rested my palms on it. It would click almost like the track pad was clicked. It would also happen when I even touched higher up near the keyboard.

creaking

hey guys,

I've had my 13" air for about 3 weeks now. Just started to notice the creaking thing. I'm not sure if I'm being anal though. If I take it into the genius bar I'm not sure they could replicate it on the shop floor, they would have to go somewhere quiet. Mine is specifically when I pick it up with one hand on the front left or right. For those people who don't have a creaking Macbook air, if you do the same and wobble it with one hand, does it really not creak at all?

For those with a creak, is it noticeable all the time? Thanks

Have it replaced. Do not take NO for an answer.

mine isn't creaking all the time, but occasionally. And every time I put my palm on it when typing or lift it up - I am waiting whether it will creak or not. This is soooo annoying. Would like to replace it, or fix it in some way.
