Apple Music Woke up this morning to a 9.99 charge for Apple Music

Hello all, just though I would share. Around 1am, I woke up to the sounds of a few notifications. All from Bank of America letting me know my debt card was charged by Apple for 9.99 plus state tax. I knew I didn’t buy anything in a long long time from Apple, and my iCloud storage bill is only 2.99.

About an hour later I finally received an email from Apple. It says I was charged 9.99 for one month of Apple Music lol. I don’t even have the music app downloaded on my devices.

Investigating a bit more, I see in my most recent purchases exactly 3 months ago I must have signed up for 3 free months.

It says 3M Winback offer…I never ever remembered this nor remember seeing any notification. And Apple never sent anything stating I was in a free trial ending soon. I don’t have the music apps installed so they must have sent it another way?

And it looks like I cannot get a refund, just canceled.

back in 2011 my account was charged for an album not purchased, contested that and won!
then apple suspended my account until 2017- after many attempts to restore that.
that was the start of a downward spiral for our relationship .
advice, make sure Bank of America is safe, set something on your account for 2 step authentication for purchases.
and hope this does not happen again!

But not having the music app downloaded on any of my devices, how could I ? I wonder if I could have activated a free trial through one of my Apple TV’s by mistake

Likely you have activated a free trial, I get them popping up often or perhaps you signed up for something else and was given the option of 3 months free Apple Music.

Just make sure it has been cancelled and move on, nothing else you can, other than use whats left of your paid plan

Same happened to me. It’s very good that u wrote down this, so I have proof. I could have not imagine what van be, but now that I komment and I googled that. The payment dissapeared!!!!
