I think the officers showed remarkable restraint in not tazing her more quickly than they did.

The lesson here: When a police officer asks you nicely to do something like open your door and get out of your car, do it nicely and promptly, without any 'tude.

I've seen this video and yes, she totally, totally had it coming. She was given more than fair warning and then tried to strike an officer. She's lucky she didn't get worse than a tazing :)

I didn't actually notice that the police actually tazed her. A very uncooperative young lady. Like most of these videos there is more to this story than is presented, although I noticed the crack in the window.

whats this other video you speak of? I recall a woman being tazed because she was driving with a suspended license, being a bitch, talking on her phone, cursing, ect. she had it coming too

And you guys probably think this guy deserved to get tased...

... you probably also think he deserved what he got for his troubles, so the money he got was undeserved.

did you even watch the first video???? these are 2 completely different situations there...one where a lady had been warned MANY times and was resisting and being a bitch, and the story you posted was about a guy who was handicaped and in a tree (god knows how he GOT there) and trying to find "footing" to come down and some hot headed cop shows up and shoots him...use some common sense before posting

He was handicaped because he was tased ... people die and get injured with these things.

You think it's funny ... and people can die or be injured.

This guy refused instructions from officers and ended up in a wheelchair.

I'm glad you think risking people's lives with a potentially lethal weapon is funny.

Yes, but he was a bulgler who was hiding from cops on a tree! They wanted him to rise his hands so they could make sure he had no weapons. I doubt any one would go up the tree to get him with posibility of him having a knight or something. He fallowing the intruction so he got tazed, bed luck for him he fell on his head. If he was to listen to the police, they woudn't have to take sych drastic actions. Don't forget, he just robed a house, probably not first. At least street are a little safer with criminal crippled-which makes him unable to work (rob houses and commiting other criminal acts)

What goes around, comes around.

And the families of the 130-plus people who have died shortly after being tased must think that video is a laugh riot, and no telling how many people have been injured/disabled after being tased.

Personally I think the video is proof of the overuse of the weapon, quite sad really.

I think NOT! Police have one of the hardest jobs out there, with there dealings of people that can cause harm to them or others. Would you rather them pull out a gun!? Or beat the living hell out of them with a club? These tasers have proved to be effective in both the safety of police and those being arrested. Pepper spray or tear gas does nothing to some, tasers are a measure to stop a person. If one would just do what an officer says- tasers would'nt have to be used. Personally they ask whats coming to them! She should of got out of the car and listened to them, rather then talking back!

Up here where I live, that's considered excessive force by the police. Our police are more gentle when dealing with suspects, in this case, a woman who was clearly unarmed. She seemed a little pissed the officers were yelling at her and disrespecting her wishes not to be manhandled.

Police could always approach targets with calmness and definitely without the shouting.

I'm sorry but that is a joke, that is a ridiculous piece of policing. since when is it "deserved" to jolt a person (who hasnt broken the law) with a billion volts (that might be a slight overstatement), i think its crazy - sure she should have got out of the car sooner but why not just do as she asked and let her get out?

i hate the police for so many reasons, this is just another sample.

If a cop uses a tazer on a fleeing or violent perp, I have no problem with it. In such circumstances, there is just cause to take someone down, and a tazer is liable to be friendlier than a bullet in the back. But there was really no call for it to be used here, at least not as quickly as it was. They helped escalate the situation. Sure, she should have listened to them from the get go, but it seemed obvious she was in an agitated state, and they tried the brute force tactic.Their next move should have been to back up a step and try to get the woman to calm down. Reason with her, don't grab her by the wrist and try to pull her out against her will.
I suppose those of you who think it's a riot wouldn't mind getting stuck with one, you know, just for kicks. Get it on tape, and post it here for us all to enjoy... :(

no you don't. :p

her knickers made me want to puke a little bit. good grief, being inebriated is no excuse for your undercrackers being in that condition... or her clothes for that matter. ICK!

while i can certainly respect someone not wanting to be manhandled, i also think cops shouldn't be so aggressive at times... but i don't see why she had to argue, just shut up and do what they say you dumbass.

TAZED... what a way to end the night.

Police often insist on grabbing or "manhandling" suspects which only escalates the situation, especially when that person is intoxicated. Its unneccisary force not excessive because they police are only doing what they're trained to do. They did'nt have to Taz her but admittedly it was very funny in a sick way.

Those who take a vicarious and prurient pleasure from seeing another human being electrocuted should be ashamed of themselves. Let's just hope something like that doesn't happen to one of your close friends or family members.
