I just got my PowerMac G3 and got a salvaged monitor from work. I have a static IP address assigned to me through the campus residence hall network. It's tied down using MAC addresses and it's currently my Airport Express.

I'm trying to use internet connection sharing through the Firewire or Ethernet to share my Airport Connection through my iMac G5. Is there a way to tell my Airport Express to give my PowerMac G3 an proper IP address? Or should I just suck it up and buy a completely wired router.

I wouldn't overcomplicate the matters. Just buy a router and be done with it. You'll be glad you did.
