Since the Ipad is going to have some form of Itunes I would imagine that will be the only method for playing back video files? I'm concerned if it is because Frankly Itunes sucks at playing back video files. No apps get approved for playing back vids as it duplicates an Ipod function already there. And if Itunes is the sole method for getting files to view, will we not only be able to sync the files via a connection to itunes on the pc, but use Home sharing to import it into the Ipad's version of itunes?

I believe the iPhone/iPod Touch use some form of Quicktime Player to render video. It works more-or-less ok, though compression can make parts of the video somewhat unpleasant to watch (particularly, I have observed choppy motion when trying to watch a movie on a big screen). You will probably be able to download video (movies, TV shows, etc) from the iTunes store, for a price. My problem is with some of the DVDs I have ripped: they were ripped in anamorphic format, which would look quick distorted on the iPad's 4:3 screen, unless it will allow me to switch the video aspect.
