I currently have iMac with high pitch noise issue gutted, when brightness is below maximum it turns on the high pitch sound also i pretty sure my hard drive is making abnormal working sounds very constant all the time and first 5 days not a peep came out of it.

The refresh could be due out any time but i was wondering if called apple care when the refresh came out and they said they needs replacing could i possible ask to be upgraded to refresh version (me paying of course the extra ) because sick of problems with the iMac this currently my 2nd one and maybe slightly less chance of the problems occurring in the refresh version?

New releases always come with issues. I doubt Apple will replace the whole iMac because of that so I wouldn't count on that. If you're interested of the new iMac, return your current and wait for new one
