i just bought a Mac mini and well i got home and i needed to do a project for school. so i was looking for a word program on the mac and found nothing. then i found this 30 day free trial of word. installed it and got everything going get done with my project and try to print it said that in the trial you cant print. so i thought crap but then i just thought ok well who care it save it as a .doc file i can just transfer it to word in windows on my labtop. so i transfer onto my labtop and then try to open it up into Word 2003 and it said that it was corrupt or that word didnt supprot that file type. Is this just because the file is still recognized as being typed on a trial version or what.
has anyone else had this problem were they cant transfer files from word on mac to word on windows. please help me out becasue if you cant transfer files from windows do some work come home put the file on the mac and then finish it i will be mad:mad:

Thanks

Go download open office.

When you get Windows do you get a word processing program? NO. You get one if you get a office or word bundle with it. Same with Mac if you get iWorks with it.

Yes, otherwise why would anyone use Word on a Mac? ;) (I'm a Pages fan myself)

PS If you can print you can save your document as a PDF from any Mac Application (with the PDF button menu) this is openable on a PC too.

Did your mini come with iWork?

If so, Pages will open Word documents. (Keynote will open Powerpoint files)

And, as other posters have pointed out, Word 2004 (Mac) can work with (Win)Word 2003 and earlier documents.
