I recently bought my girlfriend a Macbook Pro for school. She loves everything about it except for the fact that she can't work in Word for word processing. I've had my Mac a little longer and I'm growing accustomed to Pages, but she would still rather work in Word. So is there any way for me to install the newest version of Word for her without the hassle of creating a partition and running Windows simultaneously?

I have my wife setup with office 2007 on Crossover. She refuses to use any other word processor. Writers can be very picky.

I agree which is why I am still using the original Word for Mac OSX 2001 version. Hate Word for Mac 2004. Haven't tried 2008. Not looking forward to having to switch out of this basic, great Word program with no bells and whistles.

Or you could use Darwine (search google) and install MS office 2003/2007 for windows and run it directly in Mac OSX
