Is there a word process or for the iphone in development?

I would like to see this to make the iphone a replacement for a lap top it almost is.

Any web based office type suite out there which works?

I tried google docs but it didn't work very well at all.

Don't know of any, but I am sure we will see something of a text editor if nothing else sometime soon.

In the interim, here is a workaround solution.

You can use FileMagnet to move files from the desktop to the iPhone/Touch. You will only be able to view the files. However, FileMagnet provides a nice way to view your files.

Then you can e-mail changes to yourself, then update your document on your PC.

A few years ago, I traveled extensively for business. I used only my Palm Pilot. Carried an external keyboard. Used the same process. I just e-mail info back to myself at work. Then upon return, it took just a few minutes to add the text to my reports, and then format them.

YMMV.

I want a wp too.

I'm looking forward to decent word processing software for the iPhone. I really hoped/hope Apple would make a scaled-down version of iWord for the iPhone -- and it would sync with the Mac version.

Anyway, I'd like an app where I can create and edit documents, with formatting, tables, and other features, and most importantly -- it would sync with the desktop.

A spreadsheet along the same lines would be great too.

I use Documents to Go on other platforms, and it's a great application. Maybe they'll add the iPhone platform to their stable.

to be honest, i thought Google docs would be the solution here -- it's completely stored on the web, etc. but there's no editing the documents on the iPhone. That's my biggest disappointment with the Google App (in fact, it makes it useless to me).

Use the EditGrid iPhone web app for Excel Spreadsheets until an actual native app is released. I've been using it for months and it works well for what it is. Take a look at http://www.editgrid.com.
