hi everyone, i have some advice and also a request for help. if you r having problems with a printer (mine was that my hp psc 1315xi all in one series kept on cutting off the bottom of pages, like footnotes), if you have a problem with somethnig like that, then go into Page setup or its equivalent, and make sure the Format for: dropdown bar is set to YOUR printer, not Any Printer- i just got this advice back from HP and it works, so my question is, can you save your particular printer to be formatted for every time an app opens? in particalur, word alwasy opens a new doc as "Format for: Any Printer" rather than my own printer, which i want it to be. thankx

First things first... can you learn to use the return key? Makes it easier to tell where paragraphs start and end. Thanks.

I'd check Word's preferences. You will probably be able to choose a 'default' formatting for the printer, as an example. Word's preferences are huge however... it may take a little bit to dig through and see if the option you want is in there.

in case anyone reads this...

i figured out how myself... go to format>document>page setup> "your printer" in dropdown bar. click OK once, twice and you're set

ps you'd do this if you have specific drivers for your printer...
