I have lots of short videos that I want to transfer from my Mac to my iPad and after transferring to the iPad I want to delete them from my Mac. I want to view them on the iPad, perhaps do some minor editing on some videos, resave the newly edited videos back to my iPad and delete the others ones, delete other videos that I decide not to keep and transfer some videos back to my Mac.

1. Based on what I described, can someone recommend an app for doing all of this. I was thinking of VLC, though I am not sure how to edit clips, and to transfer them back to my Mac later. Can this easily be done if I transfer the videos into VLC? How would I get a video from VLC into an editing program and back?

2. Is there a better way to do what I am trying to do or a different app I should consider?

Thanks.

I’m confused. What exactly do you mean?

Save videos in iCloud or some other cloud storage service. Can edit them and save to the cloud using your preferred video editing software.
Or alternatively do it through USB C external storage drive.

So you want to save video files from the tablet. Got it.

I edit with LumaFusion on the tablet when I’m away from the desktop. I then use a WiFi enabled storage solution. Ravpower have a WiFi router thats also a storage solution. You use off the shelf SD cards.

I also use a LaCie Copilot 1TB.
