Hey, recently purchased the AirPods Max (found a pink unit at a local Apple Store). Currently traveling right now, but I was hoping to see if anyone has tested this for Zoom and making calls. Looking for something to replace my aging headset.

I have.
Unfortunately, it appears that the Airpods Max switch to lower latency aka horrible quality when the microphone is being used.
So, the mic quality may be ok (Marques Brownlee's review has a good sample) but the sound quality is not helped at all for Zoom. (not that it would be)

I don't know if this is intended behavior, but it sucks.

(the best way to test: start a Zoom call and then play music, then without pausing, quit Zoom. The music will be horrible and then once Zoom is quit will switch back to normal)

I think that's a bluetooth issue and affects all headphones when the mic is enabled.

I'd hope that it switches back to the better quality connection once you finish the call and music restarts. It seems like it does.

Hmm, I've done this connected to my Mac and there is no difference in the music quality. It stays the exact same great quality. Not sure if I'm doing your test right though. I started a zoom call, then started playing music. The quality was great, then I ended the zoom call and it stayed the same. What am I not doing here with this test?

Edit: Nevermind, I had it connected to the Mac's mic and not the Max headphones. Geez that stinks, it really does sound awful. Darn.
