So the new bump to share has me thinking about a question I've had for a while.
Has anyone figured out a workaround so that you can share your contact info without sharing ALL of your info.
I tried just removing the info I wanted to remove, such as my home address, but that robbed me of a bunch of maps features because I no longer had a designated home address, and some other autofill features.
I'd love to be able to quickly share my contact info but not give people my home phone number, birthdate, home address, etc.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried creating a new contact with your details? But only the ones you want to share?

Someone pointed out to me that there is a button to select what you do and don't want to share. I hadn't noticed this before. Issue resolved.

Do we really have to uncheck all unwanted information every single time that we share our contact?
Heck no…most likely.

An easy thing to do in the Apple ecosystem would be:
  1. In Contacts on a Mac, create a new contact with the proper info for sharing
  2. Export that one contact to your desktop
  3. Put the contact into a new note in Notes
  4. Open the note on your device and share the contact
