Working displays in stores?

Most cell stores have dummy phones for shoppers to play with, some have actual phones but are not connected to see how the web works for instance. Does anyone know how AT&T will be setup? What about actual apple stores?

I think I'll wait a week before buying to see how the masses feel about it but still don't want to pay 599 to buy it, then get stuck with a 2 year contract for 59/mo and not like it...

Me: You're kidding ?!

Clerk: That's correct, and see, the keys are as big as your fist. So no problem typing!!

Me: Well, yeah, I can see that. Hmm. What about the small one I saw with Jobs?

Clerk: Oh, that was just the prototype. We knew it was too small to really use.

Me: Of course. It all makes sense now. Okay, tell me about this big one again?

Clerk: Watch this. Turn it sideways, and it becomes an 30" HDTV display. You can read the entire New York Times from ten feet away!

Me: Cool, I'll take two of them!

My only question is how many units will AT&T have set up.. Normally they have like 1 per phone model? Obviously if you're that set on trying one, an Apple Store might be the better venue.. Good luck seeing the inside of the store without waiting in line though..

If theres only a few displays the line will be as long as the one outside. Of course I don't plan on going friday I'll be working...
