Working for Apple

Awfully vague question. The lowest-paid, salary-wise makes $1 per year. At the other end it's in the several hundreds of thousands.
Apple pays competitively based on position, education, and experience within its market. One wouldn't make substantially more or less there than with another firm in the same area.
Not to sound pedantic or confrontational...
"Competitive" pay doesn't necessarily mean paying "well", though... especially considering the South Bay's cost of living. It's all relative -- what I get paid (not at Apple, though I'd jump on that job in a heartbeat) would be mighty good in Georgia, but it's not nearly as impressive for the Cupertino area.
Not to mention the current economic situation; many companies out here are cutting pay or initiating wage freezes for this year.

I know when I graduated from school a year ago and was looking for a job along with most of my classmates discovered everyone pays the same after you factor in benefits.
After benefits where factored in everyone is with in 5-10% of each other. While I salaries varied from 45k-55k then benefits varied to match. the 45k had generally the best benefits and the 55k had the worse.
