Hey guys have any of you guys ever worked in Hebrew before? I'm having MAJOR troubles working in this language. Basically got a translation project converting a english project to the Hebrew translations.

What happens is when i copy and paste the hebrew text into my illustrator it shows up backwards. If your not familar, they read from right to left so for some reason it messes things up or it confuses things.

What i mean is for instance say the word HAPPY is in hebrew. I copy the word and then i get YPPAH. And i'm working in big paragraph sentences and everything gets turned backwards. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

You can't copy and paste Hebrew as all the letters are backwards (as you have seen). I have just brought some fonts that cover virtually all characters ... hungarian, russian, estonian, which always loose accents inregular fonts. I spent a long time trying to find one that covered Hebrew but I couldn't find one. I think you need to use a completely different interface for this language. I got a translation agency to generate the text and convert it to outlines and send it to me as an eps.

I hope this thread can inform us that there is a better way!

I know you can type in hebrew (in textedit) by enabling it in System Preferences > Language & Text. Also, you should be able to copy and paste it out of something like Google Translator. If it comes out backwards, there must be a way to switch to right to left.

At the very worst, couldn't you reverse the order of it, and then paste it in? What application are you using?
