We have to come up with an illustration for a service called "turbocrawler." We are supposed to show the professor what we think a "turbocrawler" would look like, sort of a mascot if you will. So, we are supposed to think of things that: crawl and make them fast.

Some of my thoughts are:

• Snails
• Turtles
• Spiders
• Scorpions
• Worms
• Babies (boring!)
• Crabs (the seafood kind)

and things that make them fast:

• Jet packs
• Wheels (roller skates, skateboard, etc.)
• Fire, flames

Anyway, I will go back to the brainstorming stage and try to think of more ideas, but more heads than mind would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Personally I would do a cartoony lizard with a jet pack or like rocket skates.

Definitely a snail with a jet pack. :)

I actually think it's going to be a scorpion... half bionic, half biologic... with turbines instead of pincers, wheels at the end of it's legs, and a turbine instead of a stinger on it's tail. Another possibility, not too keen on though, is a set of tank treads instead of legs. I like the idea of just a wheel at the end of each leg though.

Thanks for the replies though!

Cartoon Turtle with Rocket skates, or strapped to a rocket, reminds me of the DSL commercialswith the SLOW (turtles) family..

taking the name too literal and purely in the animal sense :)

Theres no reason why the name has to relate to an animal/insect (yes I know you've got a baby mentioned) etc.

Also don't just assume charger means speed.

So how about
- a crawling baby (in nappies) with a turbo/rocket strapped to their back - make sure it has the demented smile type face :)

- a 'caterpiller' (tracked machine - you know from farm/quarry) or even a tank with massive charger (ie american classic cars/the dodge in fast and the furious)

- a man with 'speed lines' with a portable 'credit card' machine (ie charging to credit card)

The name was TurboCrawler. No charger in the name at all.

Also, this is an old thread. I guess I should post the final image that I made for this project. I'll do that when I get home since I don't have it with me in class right now.

don't worry should have noticed the dates, damned noobs :)

Anyways - charger comes from turbocharger :p

Yup, damned noobs is right! JK noobs, don't hate us.

I know where the charger part came from as 3 of my cars have turbochargers. :p Anyway, here is the image I made for class (but much much larger):

you know I'm just going to take a guess here, but that wasn't done in illustrator was it :D

Haha. Not at all. The professor gave us the option to use any medium we had access to, and I design jewelry for a living, so I chose to use the program I use at work. It's basically a plugin for Rhino. After I modeled it I rendered it in Vray. It took 2 hours and 9.5 minutes to finish. I wish I was that good with Illustrator!

Sorry that would be me.., but we can't put a date on being creative, someone might have got a cool idea from this thread, or maybe they wanted to revisit the idea, you can create new things anytime :)
