Working Spotlight Tweak

According to the developers, the Search+ and Searchlight plugins aren't currently compatible with iOS 8.4.

Does anyone know of a working tweak to open Spotlight while in an app? Lately I find that I'm launching apps via Spotlight and a tweak would save me the closing app/closing folder (if necessary)/opening spotlight sequence that I find myself repeating.
 
One thing you can try is using Activator and setup a specific action to launch Spotlight. I just tried it myself and when the assigned action is initiated, it goes to the Springboard and activates Spotlight in one complete action.

Thanks. That's the first thing I attempted. When I'm in an open app what happens for me is it tries to open Spotlight but then goes back to the springboard.

Works for you when in an open app?
 
Yes it works for me when in an open app. I also have FolderCloser installed so that may be helping it work properly.

No luck here. FolderCloser doesn't help. I have several tweaks but no theming going on. I've eliminated many as being a single culprit, but it could be a combination of two.

I can't figure out how to configure two actions to occur while in an app. Any clue as how to do that?
 
I can't get an Activator action to go to Spotlight while in an application even after restoring as new, re-jailbreaking, and installing only Activator. Must be my iPhone 6.
 
Can anyone else, other than MacManiac76, confirm that they can get an Activator action to open Spotlight (Activate SpringBoard's search page) while in an open application?
 
I just set it up to work when I double tap the status bar and it works fine, tested in about 20 different apps.

Well, I have to assume you're not on iOS 8.4 with an iPhone 6, because I just restored my iPhone as new, jailbroke, then installed only Activator and it doesn't work. It tries to...Spotlight pops up but the screen goes immediately to the springboard just like it's always done for me.

Which action are you trying to use to activate Spotlight?

That would be a wrong assumption, iPhone 6 on 8.4

Would you like me to video it for you? It took me about 30 seconds to set it up so not sure why you can't do it.

What apps are you trying to do it in?
 
I've tried dozens of apps. Are you finding it doesn't work in some?

I had been thinking that the tweak "Searchlight" was developed because of this issue.

If it's not too much trouble a video would be great.

I'm wondering if you're using a particular tweak or theme that makes it work for you.
